"Trees into Abstraction"

WWU gallery hosts northwest artist’s painterly explorations

Walla Walla University’s Clyde and Mary Harris Gallery is presenting northwest artist William Ingham’s “Trees into Abstraction” exhibit from Sept. 18日至12月. 8, 2023. The quarter-long show will have special opening hours for 家庭周末 in October.

Ingham has enjoyed a long painting career of 49 years and has had work featured in many private and public collections. His predominant theme in painting is the natural world, and he is currently exploring the dramatic, expressionist quality of trees. Ingham’s breakthrough work, 题目是“桦树”,”  was created in 2008 and features a tree exploding in a riotous composition of color.

Ingham’s show at WWU brings together his careful renderings with dramatic explorations that show how far an artist can go to create a powerful alternative to the natural world as we know it.

家庭周末 guests can view the exhibit from 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. 10月. 27英镑,2-5便士起.m. 10月. 28岁,10岁.m.–1 p.m. 10月. 29, or during any regular opening times until Dec. 8. Ingham will also present an artist talk at 6 p.m. 12月. 7 before the conclusion of the exhibit.

The gallery is located in the Fine Arts Center, located at 200 S. 学院大街.
